What's in store

This position is responsible for strategizing and negotiating to get cost effective deals from suppliers. The procurement manager will oversee and manage the procurement process from start to finish including inventory management and subcontractor and supplier management.

Environmental
Earthworks
Demolition
Heavy civil

Work Hours

What to expect

The hours of work will range from 40 to 50 hours (9 am–5 pm) per week depending on varying contracts and timelines—overtime, weekends and/or evenings may be required.

REsponsibilities

What's typical

Procurement Managers at MGI will come across and engage with tasks such as:

  • Creating, implementing, and continually developing the procurement processes, budgets and timelines
  • Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers
  • Ensuring all materials are researched and sourced according to company budgets and timeline
  • Evaluate suppliers and the procurement process to improve processes and budgets on future projects
  • Track and report key procurement metrics
  • Anticipate and mitigate risks within the procurement process
  • Oversee and train procurement coordinators on processes and skills involved in procurement
  • Monitor and review the completion and effectiveness of orientation packages

  • Workplace Violence and Harassment for Supervisors
  • Accesibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
  • Post-Secondary Certificate, Degree, or Diploma
