What's in store

This position is responsible for accounting activities within the company, with a focus on ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of financial statements, costing, book keeping and reporting. Accounting coordinators will work under the Accounting Manager.

Our 4 division are:
Environmental
Earthworks
Demolition
Heavy civil

Work Hours

What to expect

The hours of work will consistently average 40 hours per week, (9 am–5 pm) depending on varying contracts and timelines—overtime, weekends and/or evenings are typically not required.

REsponsibilities

What's typical

Accounting Coordinators at MGI will come across and engage with tasks such as:

  • Preparing and/or reviewing appropriate ledger entries and other financial documents
  • Maintaining the general ledger system
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements; assisting with regulatory reporting as applicable
  • Report risk issues to accounting manager
  • Preparation and updating of weekly cash flow statements
  • Coordinating and following the budget process
  • Following proper accounting methods, policies and principles

  • Workplace Violence and Harassment for Workers
  • Accesibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
  • Post-Secondary Certificate, Degree, or Diploma
