Driving Forward with an MTO Triple-Demolition Project in Mississauga

There is something free and romantic about traveling the open road. Artists and adventurers aren’t the only ones who depend on transportation, however. This past year, the potential shutdown of the major New York subway line, train L, was commonly referred to by New Yorkers as the ‘L-pocalypse.’

Cities require efficient public transportation for large numbers of people to reliably get to work each day. Businesses and product suppliers need hard-working truckers to transport goods to retailers to help keep our economy strong. And, for people in remote areas, transportation systems can often help get what’s needed to prepare healthy meals and support their families. In a country the size of Canada, it is clear transportation strategy is of great importance.

MGI Construction Corp. is currently doing our part with a triple-demolition project making way for a new Ministry of Transportation development on North Service Road, Mississauga. The three residential buildings being demolished are each 1.5 storey structures with full basement and attached garage, measuring approximately 124 square metres, all having been constructed in 1952 and since been renovated. A video of the current project accompanied by funky dance music can be viewed above. (While we are often asked, we must note that house party MGI DJing services are not yet available at this time.)

This is one of the multiple projects MGI has conducted with MTO in Mississauga, other past work including Demolition & Abatement, Excavation & Earthworks, and Asbestos & Remediation in 2017.
